Dekapente…

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it every day.

1. There are at least two people in this world you would die for.

2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.

4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don’t like you.

5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

6. You mean the world to someone.

7. You are special and unique.

8. Someone you don’t even know exists loves you.

9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.

10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.

11. Always remember the compliments you received.  Forget about the rude remarks.

12. Always remember…. when life hands you Lemons, ask for sugar and call me over!!!

13. Good friends are like stars. You don’t always see them, But you know they are always there.

14. Whenever God closes one door he always opens another, even though sometimes it’s hell in the hallway.

15. I would rather have one rose and a kind word from a friend while I’m here, than a whole truckload when I’m gone.

     Ask…and it shall be given unto you..

When the lights go out…

When the lights go out and you lie in your bed at night, do not ponder the tomorrows or the yesterdays.

Close your eyes and give gratitude for all the blessings you have been granted.

The words of gratitude will quickly erase yesterday’s regrets and tommorow’s fears.

Hope and courage will quickly replace fear and regret.  

The darkness will bring light, and before you know it night will once again bring the dawn.

A-ACCEPT

Accept others for who they are and for the choices they’ve made even if you have difficulty understanding their beliefs, motives, or actions.

Forgive and forget. Grudges only weigh you down and inspire unhappiness and grief. Soar above it, and remember that everyone makes mistakes.

Leave the childhood monsters behind. They can no longer hurt you or stand in your way. 

H-HOPE

Hope for the best and never forget that anything is possible as long as you remain dedicated to the task.

I-IGNORE

Ignore the negative voice inside your head. Focus instead on your goals and remember your accomplishments. Your past success is only a small inkling of what the future holds.

J-JOURNEY

Journey to new worlds, new possibilities, by remaining open-minded. Try to learn something new every day, and you’ll grow.

K-KNOW

Know that no matter how bad things seem, they’ll always get better. The warmth of spring always follows the harshest winter

L-LOVE

Let love fill your heart instead of hate. When hate is in your heart, there’s room for nothing else, but when love is in your heart, there’s room for endless happiness.

Manage your time and your expenses wisely, and you’ll suffer less stress and worry. Then you’ll be able to focus on the important things in life.

Never ignore the poor, infirm, helpless, weak, or suffering. Offer your assistance when possible, and always your kindness and understanding.

Open your eyes and take in all the beauty around you. Even during the worst of times, there’s still much to be thankful for.

P-PLAY

Never forget to have fun along the way. Success means nothing without happiness.

Q-QUESTION

Ask many questions, because you’re here to learn.

R-RELAX

Refuse to let worry and stress rule your life, and remember that things always have a way of working out in the end.

Share your talent, skills, knowledge, and time with others. Everything that you invest in others will return to you many times over.

Even when your dreams seem impossible to reach, try anyway. You’ll be amazed by what you can accomplish.

Use your gifts to your best ability. Talent that’s wasted has no value. Talent that’s used will bring unexpected rewards.

Value the friends and family members who’ve supported and encouraged you, and be there for them as well.

Guest House…

The human being is a guest house.
Every day there are new arrivals….
A joy, a sadness, a contentment or a despair.
We have an awareness of unexpected visitors that are not so pleasant at times.
However welcome them all.
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows who come to sweep your house and empty your rooms.
Still, treat each guest of emotions honourably.
They may be clearing you out for some new delight ahead.
The dark thought, the doubt, the confusion.
Meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes, because each visitor has been sent as a guide from beyond so we can learn and become the people we are meant to be.

Faith is Courage’s baby sister…

I am so grateful that exceptional souls are amongst us, leaving behind a spool of  FAITH and COURAGE, that the rest of us can use as we look for guidance back to the light.

Know that you are never alone. Even in the darkest hours, there are always 4 angels on each corner of your bed and path to shield you from the abyss. The power of PRAYER and GRATITUDE must never be overlooked or underestimated.

Shhhhh, I’m waiting for something WONDERFUL to happen…

One night as a man slept he was visited by an angel. In his dream the angel told him that he should go to the neighbourhood park sit on the park bench and wait, because something WONDERFUL was going to happen to him. When the man awoke the words uttered by the angel resonated deeply within him and he was determined to follow through with the angel’s request. Off he went to the park. He sat patiently on the bench alllllll day, but alas, nothing WONDERFUL  happened. He went back the next day, and the next, and nothing.

One day as he sat on his usual bench, a woman approached and asked if she could join him. Agitated and impatient about his dream still not having occurred.

He looked at her and said, “you can sit there but please don’t distract me because I’m here for a purpose. I’m waiting for something WONDERFUL to happen.”. He then explained the dream to her.

The woman was fascinated and promised she would not be troublesome, as she too was now interested to see what the WONDERFUL thing that the man was waiting to experience would be.

So everyday the man and the woman would meet on the same bench and wait. She would bring lunch in a basket, they would eat and wait. They would sit on the bench spending endless hours sharing stories, laughing and sometimes even crying as they both now waited for that WONDERFUL thing to happen. The days and weeks passed, as did the months and the years.

One day the woman no longer came.

Only weeks after had the man learned from a passer-by that she had died suddenly in her sleep.

The man picked some daisies; as he remembered that in their conversations she had mentioned how much she loved them; decided to take some to her gravesite to pay his respects. As he stood above her grave, he buckled suddenly at the knees and broke down sobbing.

For it was at this moment that he realized that the something WONDERFUL he had been waiting on the park bench all those years for was this woman, and he didn’t even apprehend the gift that he had been given.

Often times LIFE gives us exactly what we need and unfortunately we are so caught up in wanting more that we don’t see what is before us.
